Cisco Completes Acquisition of OpenDNS

Cisco's Cloud Delivered Security Portfolio Now Offers Newly Integrated Threat Intelligence and Automated Global Enforcement Capabilities

Earlier this month Cisco announced that it has completed its acquisition of OpenDNS, a company that provides advanced threat protection for any device, anywhere, anytime.

With OpenDNS, Cisco is now able to provide its customers with a new capability for managing a growing number of security threats.

In addition, the OpenDNS acquisition help Cisco upgrade their current cloud-based security offerings by providing a new capability for managing a growing number of security threats.

Integrating the OpenDNS platform with Cisco security solutions will allow customers to receive greater network visibility and threat intelligence for cloud delivered protection against malicious websites and threats.

OpenDNS has integrated the Cisco AMP Threat Grid malware analysis cloud service with Open DNS Umbrella.

This first integration gives customers of both services the ability to add new malware domains discovered by Threat Grid directly to customers’ Umbrella block lists.

Gigamon Introduces New Solution to Automate Traffic Visibility for the Software-Defined Data Center

GigaVUE-VM achieves VMware Ready Network and Security status and delivers rich operational visibility for accelerated time to value

Gigamon announced the general availability and certification of the GigaVUE-VM integration with VMware NSX, a solution that automates traffic visibility for the software-defined data center (SDDC).

GigaVUE-VM uses VMware NSX Dynamic Service Insertion and NetX API integration to deliver pervasive and automated reach to traffic in the SDDC.

The GigaSECURE platform with VMware NSX enables organizations to configure and automate the capture of virtual network traffic and delivery to their network and security tools. The designation indicates that the solution has been interoperability tested with VMware NSX and utilizes the APIs and interface methods enabled by the NSX platform per VMware technical guidance.
