Systems Engineer - New York, NY - 125k

You will take ownership of:

  • Responsibility for the reliability, performance, recoverability, administration, and maintenance of the company’s multi-site IT infrastructure.
  • Day-to-day operational management and support of the company IT infrastructure.
  • Maintaining and administering Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 and VMware systems through Full System Life Cycle, including installation and configuration, patching, upgrading, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in the following technologies:
    • Microsoft Active Directory administration
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2013 and ActiveSync
    • Mobile Device Management administration (especially AirWatch)
    • Proficiency with PowerShell and very strong automation/scripting skills
    • Intimate knowledge of data backup and restoration, including deduplication technologies
    • VMware virtualization experience
    • Airwatch Architecture is a MUST
    • Solid understanding of Microsoft Clustering technologies
    • Management of File & Print Servers
    • Strong knowledge of monitoring solutions
    • Knowledge of Enterprise AntiVirus technologies (namely McAfee ePO)
    • Strong understanding of networking and IT security concepts
    • HP Proliant Server and local storage options

Candidate must be able to:

  • Work independently, diligently, and efficiently on assigned tasks and projects
  • Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues from other technical teams
  • Troubleshoot problems as escalated by the Help Desk Team in the ticketing system
  • Complete work off-hours and on weekends for infrastructure changes that cannot be performed during normal business hours
  • Must be available for limited local travel on as-needed basis

 
We expect you to have:

  • Bachelors Degree in IT or a related technical field
  • 3 – 5 years experience working as Systems Engineer
  • Strong Microsoft networking, AD, PowerShell, Exchange, and VMware experience
  • Current Microsoft and/or VMware certifications
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills in order to establish strong relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deal with internal and external customers in a friendly, empathetic, and professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain performance and professional attitude in a fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong phone presence and ability to solve problems over phone
  • High attention to detail to prevent errors when resolving problems

  • Ability to administer wide range of MS and third party server products including SharePoint, Enterprise Backup software, SolarWinds, NeverFail, VEEAM/vRanger, McAfee ePO, ServiceNow, and Office 365

  • Provide technical assistance functions to the inside sales department.
  • Assist and support administrative managers and directors in their daily tasks.
  • Manage deal registrations, contract renewals, and provide daily quotes to clients. 
  • Maintain and manage relevant technical databases, forecasting, CRM, work with distributors.
  • Maintain and manage technical files and records in an organized manner.
  • Organize and schedule client meetings both internal and external.
  • Provide administrative support to customers, tracking, quotes, pricing for all hardware, software and upcoming contract renewals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customers’ complex technical problems.
  • Support and assist administrative department in strategic direction to technical persons.
  • Ensure compliance of corporate guidelines in technical administrative assistant functions.
